Come! Taste six wines from the august and venerable estate of VIETTI, in Italy’s Piemonte.
Piemonte is the far northwest corner of Italy, the part that’s tucked into the border with France and Switzerland and truly does lie at the foot of the mountains. Best known for crafting compelling and elusive nebbiolo, the Piemontese do real justice to barbera and dolcetto, too. White wine’s second-tier status is obvious in this red-rich zone but a native white grape, arneis, yields wines that are in no way second-rate.
One region. One producer. Six wines.
We will drink from Vietti: Arneis, Barbera d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and Barolo, Barolo, Barolo (Yes, three of them.)
One region. One producer. Six wines. Plus food. And talk.
We will start at 6:30. Dawn Gaudini, representing Dalla Terra, the importer of these wines, will present each of the six wines in a conducted tasting. Wines will be accompanied by food from Common Fire. Ticket price of $95 includes food, wine, tax and tip. The whole shebang. Advance ticket purchase required.
